Tree Risk Management Plans and Hazard Assessments
Tree safety policies and tree risk management plans can help landowners assess the level of risk to members of the public accessing their land. Tree risk management plans (TRMPs) can help to realistically achieve a balance between the safe use of a site for the public, the risk of harm from trees or branches failing, landscape amenity and nature conservation. TRMPs can identify different ‘zones’ where inspections or tree works are identified as more important than others due to the amount of people using the site.
A TRMP or tree management system can help show that due care and consideration has been given to the risk to members of the public who access the land. We have worked with a number of local authorities and private landowners to develop TRMPs providing information on re-inspection timescales, recommended works in priority order and the current condition of trees.
