Sapling Arboriculture Ltd is a consultancy business, operating from Hampshire, that specialises in providing advice and management for trees in the urban and rural landscape.

Ben Abbatt is the director of Sapling Arboriculture Ltd and has worked in the industry since 1993. He holds the highest professional qualification in tree management (Professional Diploma in Arboriculture) and is a professional chartered member (MICFor) of the Institute of Chartered Foresters.

Ben is also a member of the Arboricultural Association, Royal Forestry Society and the International Society of Arboriculture. His experience includes work as a contractor, manager for national forestry company, local authority and consultant.

His local authority experience began in 2000 and duties have included providing professional arboricultural advice to members of the public, Officers and Councillors, planning applications, Tree Preservation Orders, management of the Council's tree stock, Highway tree management, subsidence claims, contract specification and management and legal issues that involve trees.

Management and Contractor experience was gained mainly through working for a national forestry company (that had diversified into arboriculture). Work undertaken ranged from tree planting, tree climbing, client liaison, quoting for works, preparing tender documents, management of contracts and management of between 8 - 20 staff.

Sapling Arboriculture is insured for Professional Indemnity to £500,000 (the value recommended by the Arboriculture Association). Copies of the certificates of insurance are available for clients upon request.
